Why MasterCraft?
-MasterCraft is the top inboard manufacturer in the world, and pulling further ahead.
-The MasterCraft V Series wraps innovation and luxury in unsurpassed performance, on a world-class hull.
-Striking beauty. Rich appointments. Elegant lines so magnetic and pure that Powerboat Magazine declared "There is no comparison between a V-Series and any stern-drive".
-Equipped with Detriot Forged V-8 engines and MasterCrafts Vector Drive, MasterCraft adds unmatched value to the V-Series with features you can not even order on an I/O.
-The V-Series planes twice as fast as an I/O.
-The V-Series provides a lower draft for running in shallow water, and uses less fuel, thanks to its clever, direct-to-prop, multi-port, EFI Configuration.
-Every MasterCraft is built with quality at the forefront. From the hand-laid hulls to the best materials we can buy for your boat, we make no excuses for being expensive. It is a conscious decision to be the best.
Who are we to argue with the experts of the boating press?
The V-Series simply shines.
Why settle for an I/O when you can get superior performance and luxury of an inboard MasterCraft?
An inboard produces a stronger hole shot with less time to plane than an I/O.
MasterCrafts use inboards for visibility and safety on the water giving lower bow rise during acceleration.
MasterCrafts turn tighter than any I/O’s due to a wider range of motion (110 degrees) with a rudder vs. 60- 90 degrees found on the I/O stern unit.
Inboard transmissions use one prop, tucked well underneath the boat that is out of the way vs. 1 or 2 counter-rotating props directly under the swim deck, where everyone boards the boat.
The angle of thrust from a true inboard allows for more of the boat in the water for a better ride in chop. Since we are breaking water further forward on the keel than a boat with an I/O, the boat is more stable and responsive. This allows us to reduce the deadrise toward the transom to form the best wakeboard, slalom and surf wakes in the world.
A major benefit to inboard engines and transmissions is that they are inside the boat, away from the elements. This extends life when compared to an I/O that is subject to the elements and submerged.
V-drives cost substantially less to maintain. Inboards have less of a corrosion problem than stern drives since marine bronze, stainless steel and nibral are used. All of the mechanical systems stay clean, dry, and inside the boat. Stern drives are complex mechanical devices that have huge amounts of anodic aluminum and multiple seals immersed in the water & electrolyte…a potential disaster.
